Loved ones who've passed use creative ways to reach out. Are you paying attention?
by Rose Claire
You’re sipping your morning coffee, gazing out the window into your garden, when a little bird perches on your window sill and starts chirping away. You put your coffee cup down and watch your feathered friend as it sings and bounces along your window sill. But what strikes you about this morning serenade is that it’s not the first time it’s happened. And every time you look at your small songster, you think it’s smiling at you, almost as if this song was just for you—almost as if someone you knew was delivering a personal message.
...(It) may be a calling card from someone on the other side, someone who wants to connect with you.
Interestingly, it’s those tiny life moments that are cause for wonder or that serve up a thought or memory about someone that are forms of communication from those who’ve crossed over. For example, you’ve probably had the experience of an item disappearing and reappearing in another room in the house. Your first inclination is to scratch your head and wonder how you blanked out moving that item or start questioning which kid was using it without your permission. But that particular item and its repositioning may be a calling card from someone on the other side, someone who wants to connect with you.
Then there’s that smell, the flowery perfume that grandma wore, wafting through the kitchen. Where is it coming from? You blow your nose, scrub the counters and the floors and even clean out the refrigerator, but the scent lingers along with touching memories of your grandmother.
Spirit is incredibly creative and has a sense of humor.
Believe it or not, these are common ways that Spirit works to show that those you loved but lost are still with you. Here’s a list of some of the common ways those who’ve crossed over use to connect. The list is far from exhaustive, but it’s a good place to start.
· Items being moved or being rattled as if touched
· Animals, flowers or something in nature jogging thoughts and memories
· Scents such as cigars, cigarettes, perfume or food specific to someone who’s passed
· Lights, TVs, phones or other tech items turning on or off
· Hearing a saying or phrase characteristic of a friend or relative on the other side
· Dreams featuring people who’ve passed
· Seeing the same numbers on a clock or other place
· Finding an item or photograph related to one who’s transitioned
· Strong thoughts or memories of someone we love who’s in spirit now
Remember, Spirit is incredibly creative and has a sense of humor. So, if you have a feeling something that’s occurred may be a calling card from the other side, take a minute and “chat” with that person either out loud or telepathically. You’ll likely get confirmation that someone you love is sending a message to show they still love you, too.
