September’s Lunar Eclipse:What Will Your Sign Experience?

Welcome to fall eclipse season where we’re kicking off with a lunar eclipse in Pisces on September 7^th.

For those who’ve been following along, eclipses fall along axes, which simply means the lunar eclipse happens in one sign but pulls in energy from the opposite sign on astrological chart. Since September of last year, we’ve been working on the Pisces-Virgo axis.

The Pisces-Virgo axis is especially interesting because it really brings together the themes of the right and left brain. Pisces, the sign of the dreamer and intuitive, vibrates to right-brain energy, while Virgo, the sign of analysis and organization, aligns more with left-brain sensibilities.

This is not to say that either sign is purely right- or left-brain oriented; that would be too simplistic. But there are strong connections between Pisces and the right brain and Virgo and the left brain.

Lunar Eclipses 101

Full moons and lunar eclipses occur together, which means the typical energy of the full moon that includes endings and letting go is amplified.

Additionally, it’s interesting to think about how only some full moons get paired with a lunar eclipse? To answer this, we have to understand the idea of the moon’s nodes (the North and South nodes). These nodes are points where the Moon’s orbit around the Earth intersects the Earth’s orbit around the Sun.

To be clear, these nodes are not planets or celestial bodies; they are merely points. But what’s cool is that each of these points represents important energies. The North node is about your growth in this lifetime—what you came to learn and do; it could be construed broadly as your soul’s purpose. The South node represents what you bring from your past (or past lives); it can be all the knowledge and skills you’ve acquired as well as the karma.

When a lunar eclipse occurs, it is very close to one of the nodes. In the case of the 9/7/25 lunar eclipse, it is occurring very close to the North node, pulling in additional energies about what we need to let go of for our continued growth and alignment with our purpose.

Eclipse Energy

One other important note about eclipses is that their energy can last from one- to-six months after the eclipse. Because of that, it’s a good idea to think back to the last lunar eclipse in mid-March of this year and recall what you were learning or doing then.

Ask yourself what changes have occurred. Look at where you were and where you are now. What differences do you see? Keeping track of the progress and changes that occur from one eclipse to another can help you be prepared for the next eclipse and to better understand what lesson you’re to learn.

What Your Sign Will Experience

Use your Rising sign, if possible, to explore what energy will be present for your during the lunar eclipse. If you don’t know your rising sign, you can work with your Sun sign.

Aries: The eclipse is located in your twelfth house where your unconscious lives and will make itself known during this eclipse. When fears and past worries rise in you, use the left-brain practical thinking and grounding energies to stay balanced. Let go of habits that no longer serve you; they will likely become clear during this time.

Taurus: Changes in the groups and communities you’ve aligned yourself with will challenge your status quo. At times, you may have difficulty seeing the truth of a friendship. Be prepared to use the eclipse energy to release groups and individuals that you have outgrown or that no longer work for you. Trust your intuition, Taurus. You know value whether it's economic value or value of a relationship.

Gemini: Your public persona is front and center for this eclipse, and you will find yourself ending projects and thinking about new directions. Don’t be surprised if something you weren’t expecting culminates early. It’s just opening a door for a new opportunity to come your way. Keep grounded so you don’t miss it.

Cancer: Something you’ve been learning comes to a close, and it’s time to apply the knowledge and wisdom you’ve gained. The Pisces impact on this eclipse sparks your spiritual side; allow yourself to explore and experience it. Avoid second-guessing yourself and trust your intuition.

Leo: Working with someone else, you structure ways to let go of debt and unnecessary financial obligations. The emotional side of Pisces strikes you harder than normal, so staying aware of your feelings and how you project them onto others is key for your success with this eclipse.

Virgo: You feel the tug of your intuition (right brain) integrating with your practical, analytical side (left brain), allowing you to make clear decisions about relationships that are solid and productive in your life and those that need to come to a close. But you have to do the work! Use your natural Virgoan strengths to analyze a contract involving a relationship with someone to make sure it’s right for you. Then remember to check in with your intuition as well.

Libra: It’s time to give up the indulgences and refocus on a healthy lifestyle. Stop fantasizing about making time to exercise and block time each day to do so. It doesn’t have to be a lot; just get started. You will feel the urge to take on a new cause, but before you do, clear out unnecessary work or activities, so you can fully commit.

Scorpio: Your joy is sparking, Scorpio! Connect with it and your creative side to chart a new course in business or to just enjoy the creative process. And, don’t be afraid to dig your hands in the clay when playing with the kids or grandkids. It will bring them joy and even more for you.

Sagittarius: The home is front and center for you during this eclipse period. Clean the house and the garage. Organize the attic and all those junk drawers. Then make the repairs you keep putting off and follow through on those dreams of remodeling. You’ll find the family will really love being together in the new digs!

Capricorn: Communication, especially in the business or professional sector, is a strength of yours as it draws from your left brain and allows you to come straight to the point. But this eclipse energy is pushing you to let go of some of the formality of your talk and writing, and instead, come from the heart. You will also complete some piece of communication, such as a book, article, essay or presentation, and it will like a true accomplishment.

Aquarius: Pull yourself out of the air and down to the earth with this eclipse, Aquarius, because you’re being called on to shore up your finances. Don’t be surprised if you sell off some underperforming stocks or other investments or decide to change your spending habits. Now is the time to spend less and save more.

Pisces: It’s time to get real about who you are and to let go of any pretense. If there are perceptions about you that you don’t like, take a hard look at those and see if there is truth in them. If so, you know what you have to release and change. Practice grounding exercises and meditation to get a clear picture of what needs changing and the process to do so.

As you ready for this next lunar eclipse, know that its energy is, well, wonky. So, you may have periods that feel chaotic or out of control. You may feel like things are going in exactly the opposite direction of what you wanted. You may start questioning yourself.

It’s okay. It’s part of the process. Just stay focused on the lesson of what you’re to let go of or to retool in your life. Remember: This, too, shall pass, and if you pay attention, you will grow and be better for it.
