Once in a Blue Moon is TONIGHT!

by Rose Claire

August’s rare blue moon lights up the sky on August 19 (and 20th and 21st) with a couple of interesting twists. First, it’s not only a Blue Moon, it’s a supermoon. So, if the clouds clear, you should be able to catch a glimpse of this celestial gem at its closest point to the Earth in the past year.

(Oh, and if you look up and the moon isn’t blue, don’t panic. That’s just an expression for the rarity of this astrological event.)

Anyhoo, it also happens that this powerhouse moon lands in the midst of Mercury Retrograde, so the likelihood of some “interruptions” is always a possibility.

Let’s break this full moon down.

With any full moon, it’s time to reflect and seek clarity in our lives. It’s also a time to release anything that isn’t working such as a job or a relationship as well as to focus on manifesting our dreams and goals. With the added flavor of a supermoon, the energies of this full moon are on steroids.

Now, this particular supermoon plops down in Aquarius, the sign of humanitarianism and anything weird, offbeat or techie. Aquarius is ruled by the planet of lightning bolt changes, Uranus, which happens to be in a rather suspect position to the speed demon planet, Mercury. And, Aquarius is opposing the sign of Leo, where the Sun happens to be basking as we speak.

What does this crazy configuration of planets and energies mean? It means we can expect some unexpected snafus, especially in the area of technology, which Aquarius loves and back flipping Mercury rules. It means life-changing epiphanies may occur. And, it means emotions may run high and express in dramatic Leonine fashion.

What you can do…

1. Journal your ideas, dreams and thoughts, the ones you want to manifest. 2. Meditate and reflect on where you are in your life. 3. Openly acknowledge any activity or person who isn’t working in your life. 4. Actively prepare for possible issues with your phone, computer, tablet or any other electronic in your world that you rely on. 5. Think before you speak. 6. Be gentle with yourself and others as some heated emotions may bump up the temperature in the room.

And, if you can, sit back and enjoy the show. After all, this kind of energy only shows up once in a blue moon!
